Where is Dire Bruce?

A new update, he is still active, but things are a bit mixed up and slow, but several new items for listening.

First, the ‘lost’ first album from 1999-2001 era is partly found. You can listen here:

Additionally, several months ago several small EPs were released each with a different focus, pop, noise & cover songs.  You can find Covers of the covers of the…, Stop the Clocks, and the Noisy one on bandcamp:

Due to laziness, updates have been going out on the bandcamp pages but not on the blog with several things not getting their proper updates here. First, this is a bit dated but back in the summer of 2014 the New Mummies released a new album ‘Gnis Gnos’. You can listen and download here!

The album was recorded in San Francisco and consists of recordings from live rehearsals directly recorded onto a tablet.  The recording quality is lo-fi and plans were never carried out to record proper. This is the first album to feature a new New Mummie, as the duo became a trio, with EM providing drums (and sometimes bass or guitar) on most songs.

Additionally, in the attempt to get to play an international indiepop & rock festival the New Mummies made a compilation trying to dial down their spacerock tendencies. While the gig never occurred, ‘The New Mummies Know Best’ works as a fine introduction into the poppier side of the band!

Things have changed and this EP had been elsewhere, but this was the demo passed around in 2009-10 when the CGs tried to get gigs in Austin in their new formation, when they couldn’t settle on who they really were as hidden objects.
